Abstract submission will start Sept 1 and will be submitted through this page once the portal is open. Please keep a few guidelines in mind while preparing your abstract:

• Abstracts do not have a specific word limit, but are encouraged to be under a page
• Abstracts should consist of a brief background/context, objective/hypothesis, method, results and conclusions to provide the audience a clear picture of your presentation 
• Student and professional research projects are both encouraged that focus on Gulf Coast Geology, Energy Resources, and Geoscience Issues
• Presentations will be either oral or poster
•  After acceptance, we encourage you to expand your abstract into an extended abstract with illustrations or even full paper for publication in our 74th Transactions volume

Submitting your abstract indicates your intent to attend the meeting in person to present.  A strong abstract conveys technically accurate ideas with a fresh and insightful perspective. The discussion is relevant, sharply focused on the topic, and appropriately concise. Conclusions are clearly defined, backed by data, and supported by persuasive reasoning. For abstracts related to ongoing studies, the work should reflect a significant milestone.
