SC3: Understanding and Applying Organic Geochemistry in Exploration and Production Assessments
Speakers:
Dr. Dan Jarvie Worldwide Geochemistry
Dr. Alex Zumberge GeoMark Research
This course aims to provide a clear understanding of basic techniques and applications of organic geochemistry for geologists, engineers, managers, and investors. This knowledge is designed to enhance understanding and application of geochemistry. The course provides a detailed assessment of source rocks to oil and gas geochemistry including reservoir production and allocation as well as time lapse geochemistry.
The components and processes involved in a petroleum system are described in detail, which will lay a solid foundation for interpreting the results of an organic geochemical program. Since commercial success is contingent upon recognizing specific geochemical constraints present in nature, this course will focus on evaluating and understanding these essential geochemical criteria. Additionally, these basic and detailed analytical results will be presented in assessments of both conventional and unconventional plays.
Date: Tuesday, April 8th
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: Baker Pattillo Student Center, SFASU Campus
